Our story · Baan Kok Chan School, Loei
Gai Pla Project: from learning to doing
From computers and a farming simulation to real chicken and fish farms — each step brought financial literacy to life.
Students initially received a $4 monthly allowance. Today, they earn up to $100 per month from selling chicken eggs — turning lessons about money into experience earning and managing it.
01 · The beginning
It started with the basics
We brought computers and equipment to Baan Kok Chan School in Loei, opening up new opportunities for students to learn. Our first financial literacy workshops introduced budgeting, saving and how money works.
02 · Practicing business decisions
A farming business, simulated
We created a financial literacy game for students to simulate running a real farming business. It gives them a chance to practice controlling costs and expanding their business through the decisions they make.
03 · Gai · The chicken farm
A real business, funded by Tamin
With funding from Tamin Pastry Brand, we installed a chicken farm at the school. Students who initially received just $4 per month in allowance now earn up to $100 per month from selling chicken eggs.
04 · Pla · The fish farm
Growing into fish
Alongside the chickens, the fish farm gave students another opportunity to put financial literacy into practice — managing feeding, sales and expenses themselves. With the earnings from egg and fish sales, students learned to reinvest: purchasing more chickens and fish and starting a vegetable farm.
